The only way to get success in the online world is to create a plan or blueprint or have one given to you. Then have the commitment, drive and ambition to take the necessary action to follow it through. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling your own ebooks, widgets or work as an affiliate for someone else you have to follow a route map to success and follow it through to the end.

We all know what can happen if we don’t make a plan, we dither, delay and fail. As the mantra goes – people don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan” – and yet we seem to be destined to fail and give up, time after time. So what goes wrong?

We get distracted – We’re far too easily distracted. It’s hard to admit but it’s true. We buy a new ebook or course and think that this is our path to riches. Then a few days later our mailbox gets swamped with the next great offer and we succumb to it. The former path to glory now lies in ruins and will gather cyber dust with the others that we’ve bought and forgotten. Gurus and their affiliates are quite within their rights to offer you the next big thing – and they’d rather you’d buy that then focus. Look for someone committed to your future not your wallet.

We catch the learning bug – This is when the insatiable hunger for more training and the latest product takes over as you buy and devour them at an alarming rate. The problem is that most online guru training sells you hope not results! This means that they are quickly forgotten as we move on to our next digital fix.

We don’t fully understand and the doubts make us give up – If you’re trying to follow any plan that you don’t fully understand then you’re bound to have doubts. These doubts eat away at your confidence so that the slightest setback is magnified out of all proportion. For example, you see your first sale as a failure because it’s not 100 sales. If only we were given the full true picture that things take time so that we could have more realistic expectations then we may not give up so easily.

We don’t take action – There are those who plan and pontificate and never ever take action. Taking action is the single attribute that differentiates those that succeed from those that fail. If you aren’t prepared to invest the time and effort then you can’t succeed. They are destined to fall for scam after scam such as those wonderful lotteries that produce winners even though you haven’t entered them!

It really isn’t our fault because everything you’ve been told about affiliate marketing is wrong! We need to stop being lead around like sheep and start taking action and responsibility.

It’s actually surprisingly simple to find a route map to success.

1. Choose your path to follow – Find a product that appeals or I’m going to recommend a method below.

2. Read it and then read it again. Take lots of notes to ensure that nothing gets missed.

3. Create a detailed plan of what you need to do. The keyword is detailed – break this down further into a task list.

4. There are many different approaches you can now take. Either start at the top of the list, start with some easy tasks or tackle them in a mixture of the other two. The important thing is that you keep going and get those tasks crossed off.

5. Whenever you have a little time choose and do a task.

6. Just keep going and then have a big push to finish the list.

7. Make sure you celebrate those landmarks such as the first sign up to an autoresponder and that first sale.
