3 Tips for Creating Content Rich Blogs

If you are at all interested in maximizing the amount of search engine attention your blog receives, you will have to learn the art of creating content rich pages. And how exactly can you do that?

Your blog, if it is to be considered content rich, will have to meet three criteria:

It will have to contain unique content; the content will have to be self-updating; and the content will have to prove useful to your blog’s readers.

One of the easiest ways to get your self overlooked by search engines is to have duplicate content.  If you don’t do your best to produce unique content for your blog, the search engine spiders will find it quite boring and will not give it a very elevated ranking. A second caveat is that, even if you provide you blog with unique content in the form of videos, or in any code except HTML the search engine spiders are apt to decide that your blog has no content at all. In their logic, if they can’t read it, it doesn’t exist, and it will not be considered when they calculate their rankings.

Your best chance, therefore, of impressing the spiders, is to keep your blog loaded with unique HTML text, and if you don’t have time to write it yourself, consider having it outsourced through sites like elance.com or rentacoder.com

Your next strategy in building a content rich blog is to get yourself some self-updating content via Google AdSense, Amazon Ads, Yahoo Publisher’s Network, or an RSS feed.  The search engine spiders are programmed to find these kinds of content and count them as new, and you will be rewarded with an improved ranking.

Finally, any content rich blog has to be of some use to its readership. If you are using an RSS feed simply to add content to your blog without caring whether or not it is relevant to your blog’s main theme, your blog is not useful to its readers. If you blog is simply a place to post a mishmash of text so that you can squeeze in some ads, you will almost certainly get caught by the spiders and tossed by the search engines. But even if you’re not, exactly how do you expect to generate the returning visitors which are essential if your blog is to ever become a money maker?

If you can build a blog which meets all of these criteria, you will make both the spiders and your readers happy, and be on your way to a profitable blogging career!
